Modbus on HVS 450

Post by cmassicot » Wed May 28, 2014 10:58 am

Hello
I have a hard time getting started with Modbus on a HVS 450.

1. In the "Connection" section, I configured Serial Port 1 for my application(Modbus RTU Master, 9600bps, No parity, 1 Stop bit)

2. Under Serial Port 1, I created a Modbus device by clicking "Add Modbus Device". The device is named Remote Slave Device

3. In the Modbus Device, I created a mapping group (named ConsumptionQ) and I created a variable referring to Modbus address 40000 and I am reading a 32 bit long holding register.

4. I reused the "Blink Light" example an inserted Modbus->RefreshMapping Group(Remote Slave Device.ConsumptionQ) in one of the blinking states of the state machine

5. When the program is uploaded I start the blinking but no data is sent from the RS-485 pins on Port D

I do not understand what is missing at this point.

Thanks

Charles

OK I found the problem, the Modbus Address was not entered correctly, it works now.

Thanks

Hi Charles,

If you have sample config file which uses MODBUS and serial port configuration , please provide the sample here.
