Currently, a lamp gauge allows for image selection based on the value in a parameter.
I would like to suggest that text be added as an option. While this functionality can be simulated either via show/hide or scripting, it is not as straight forward as specifying an image. Example below.

Value English Spanish
0 Inactive Inactivo
1 Active Activo
2 Error Error
3 Disabled Discapacitado
4 etc.

I'm a little confused by this post / request. The ability to turn text on and off with a lamp gauge already exists, and I use it in my configurations. When adding a new element to the gauge, a little window pop up asking if it should be an image or text.

If this is not what you are after, then I think you may need to explain it in a little more detail.
