PV750 Displays issue

Post by twang » Fri Dec 24, 2010 9:36 pm

I have a customer who bought two displays with 2.0 hardware supported. But when they loaded the 1.1 configutation file into display. Both of the displays can be updated normally but after loaded successfully, both of them can't be powered up just with black screen and buttons up. Who can help me to do the troubleshoot? and does anyone suffer the same issue?

thanks and Merry Christmas.

If I understand you correctly, they loaded a 1.1 Configuration only onto a 2.0 version unit. If this is the case and they did not over-write the 2.0 application software, then what is happening is only that the 2.0 application does not understand the 1.1 configuration.

They should still be able to hold down the bottom right two keys and power on and bring up the loader. If they do that, then they should be able to do an install of a 2.0 configuration if they have one available.

Do they have a 2.0 configuration?

yes, your understanding is correct.

i am not sure if they have 2.0 file, but they have 2.1 file for sure.

any suggestion?

thanks and happy new year.

they have 2.1 file but they can't load this file into PV750 when they hold down the two right buttons.

So are you saying that when they hold the bottom right two buttons and power on, they do not get a screen at all - or the load doesn't work after they get the Loader screen?

If they don't get a screen at all, the only way we've seen this happen is if the 1.1 file they loaded included a loader and an application, which may corrupt the loader. If the loader is corrupted, then the only solution is for it to be reprogrammed here at the factory.

So, do they have a 1.1 configuration that they want to continue to use? If so, please send me an e-mail and lets see if we can change the load they're using to be able to reprogram a 2.0+ unit back to 1.1 for them.
