Flickering Video on PV750

Post by dberezowski » Thu Sep 27, 2012 8:50 am

We have hooked up a backup camera to the PV750 and are using the Murphy Standard for testing purposes. The full screen video flickers, macro-blocks and occasionally freezes. The small screen video has some noise ( acceptable ) and occasionally a thin horizontal line flashes across the display. The PV750 is set to NTSC and the camera is outputting NTSC. We are using this camera http://eccolink.com/ProductPages/CamerasHMPG.cfm which has a resolution of 500(H) x 582(V). Can you offer any suggestions how to alleviate the issues we are having?

I've had some issues with the video input as well. We tried using a Garmin GVN 53 with an NTSC output into the PV750 and the image would flicker and turn green. It would sometimes be fine at one moment, but if you change screens and come back to the video screen, it would turn green. I tried using the Garmin on another display (TV) without any issues. I received some support from FW Murphy a while ago and was told that the GPS video signal is not compatible with the PV750 for the vertical syncing period of the NTSC signal. I suppose it is possible that your camera has the same compatibility issues that the Garmin has.

I am hopeful that with the upcoming software release, the issue can be corrected. We'll see...
