How do I reset Service Reminders

[Customer question]
Could you explain how the service reminders are reset? For example after an oil change.

So assuming the service reminders in the Murphy Standard config included in 2.1:

The first thing someone needs to do is to go into the hidden menu of the display. Assuming everyone on this forum is a PV750 "superuser", then I don't mind telling you the way to do this is to go to the main menu of (where you see Gauge Screen, Engine Diagnostics, User Settings, and Utilities), hit the button combination 4,4,6,6, where all the buttons on the right are number with even numbers from top to bottom. You should now see the "hidden menu". Select Service Reminders, now you have the option to edit the service reminder values.

One thing to keep in mind, you won't see a correct remaining hours without having valid Engine hours come across the CAN (unless you modify that data source in the config).

This was placed in the hidden menu so an OEM or supervisor could set that value. Since you have the config tool, you could actually go in and set initial values for the Remaining engine hours in the database tab (look for variables named ServRemInterval1 through ServRemInterval5 and just change their initial values).

The end user only needs to select Utilities off the Main menu then, Service Reminders off the Utilities menu - they will see the remaining hours you've set as default or from the hidden screen. They only have the option to Reset in from here since they didn't come in through the hidden menu. Reset then will set the target time to the current engine hours plus the interval - making the remainder initially equal to the interval.

By setting it up with the default in the config or going to the hidden menu and setting that interval value, this should make much more sense.

I hope this helps...
