Free Form Extended CAN Message 0x4EF0102 and 0x8EF0102

Post by kishi@pues » Mon Oct 17, 2011 11:54 pm

Hello,
I am a beginner of pv450. I want to configure PV450 to display information from two free form extended messages, 0x4EF0102 and 0x8EF0102, but PV450 seems to unable to discriminate between these messages. How can I resolve this problem?
- I know that these messages are almost same only except priority...

Thank you!

Hi kishi@pues

Are 0x4EF0102 and 0x8EF0102 the frame IDs of your free form CAN messages? Do you have an example config?

Also, what version of Powervision are you using?

Thanks!

Thanks for sending the configuration! It looks like your gauges are responding correctly to 0x08EF0102 and they are not responding to 0x04EF0102 which is expected since they are different Frame IDs. If you set up gauges to respond to the variables on 0x004EF0102, they should work properly. So the PV450 is discriminating correctly between these two messages. Let me know if this answers your question correctly. Thanks!

Hello bseidl!
Thank you for your reply!
On my test environment, my gauges are responding to both of message, 0x4EF0102 and 0x8EF0102. In addition, I found that it is stated that "priority is informational only" in configuration studio's reference manual.
Therefore, I'm not sure why your PV450 can discriminate between these two messages.

By the way, I found a way to resolve this problem by changing configuration of my device which sends that messages. So, I'm not going to follow-up this problem any more.

Thank you for your cooperation!
