2.7 => 2.8 PV450 Configuration Conversion Issue

Post by dmsellers » Mon Sep 26, 2016 7:48 am

Hello,

1.) Configuration Conversion from Configuration Studio 2.7.10475 to 2.8.10528
2.) Display - PV450

I have an existing configuration that was built with Studio 2.7 that I pulled into Studio 2.8. I created a full Install and loaded into a PV450. After the load completed, the display booted and briefly displayed the splash screen then seemed to be "stuck" in a blank screen. I then used Studio 2.7 to load the configuration back into the 450 and operated as expected. Are there any additional verification steps that need to be executed to convert a configuration to 2.8?

Thanks,

Dan

Hello Dan,

You might go through your Unit Conversions in the Library and look for the word "Infinity" or multipliers set to zero. We have a bug fix for the next release for this issue. The release isn't planned yet so no release testing has been done.

One of the symptoms of the bug is when you select the units property of a gauge with parameter that has a bad units multiplier in Page Designer, PowerVision Configuration Studio will crash. I'm not sure what other symptoms will be caused by the bad units. If you are using the parameter in a calculation it could cause a crash on the display and still validate ok.

Let me know if you don't find anything. I may need you to send me the config to get to the root cause of the problem.

Hi Sara,

Weird thing. I'm setup to get email notifications for most topics on this forum and I just got a slew of them in my inbox. Some dating back to the middle of last month. Your response to this question was in that bunch, so I apologize for my slow response.

I just checked my configuration and I didn't come across anything as you describe in the Unit Conversions table.
