To be able to choose HTTP or FTP for loading the configurations (from the existing dropdown menu that only has HTTP). With the HTTP, you opened up the ability to program from systems that have security rules against FTP traffic, but also closed the door on some of us that have HTTP proxy servers with restrictive rules. For example, my company forces all http traffic (even local) through a proxy server, and if it is an unrecognised local address, it block it. I had no issue with the FTP access.
