MPC-20 At Load Gov Control

Post by Ocelot » Thu Apr 14, 2016 6:26 pm

All,

Not a bug.

Someone might have already brought this up.

From the MPC-20 operations manual,

"Gov. Control This output turns on after the warmup delay expires and turns off when the
cooldown delay begins timing."

MPC-20 MSTD config bundled with PowerVision 2.8.10366

Test Replication:

Set MPC-20 controller to Auto Mode

Perform an engine start, get through crank/warmup etc. to the running loaded state and remove the run signal to enter the Cooldown state. If a call to run is detected in the Cooldown state, currently the controller changes the state from Cooldown to Running Loaded, sets the state timer to 0, and never turns the "At Load Gov Control" output back on.

The controller is doing what the manual states, but I wonder if "At Load Gov Control" should be turned on at the beginning of the Running Loaded state as opposed to at the end of the Warmup state.

This may just be a difference in application.

Hello Ocelot,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We do want the output to come back on if the controller returns to the running loaded state.

The issue has been put in the backlog. I've mentioned that PowerVision Configuration Studio 2.8 patch 1 is in validation test right now. The MPC20 configuration has already been through test, so I'm not sure if this will get in to the patch release. If it is, I will put it in the release notes. Knowing the MPC20 configuration developer, he has it done already ;-)

We certainly appreciate your help to make the MPC20 configuration better.
