PV780 Backlight Brightness

Post by Dai Uematsu » Thu Mar 03, 2016 4:26 am

Our customer said that the brightness of the display(PV780) is too bright even when the setting is changed to 0%. Would it be possible to change the default setting(range of the brightness) to make the screen darker? If possible, please let me know how to do that.

Thank you,

Hello Dai Uematsu,

The variables that are adjusted to control brightness are the Day/Night, Brightness.Day and Brightness.Night. In the standard Murphy config, it appears that the range for the Brightness.Day and Brightness.Night is 0-100.

The Day/Night variable is used to determine the colors set in the gauge and widget Day and Night properties.

Hello Sara,

Thank you for your quick reply. My question was seemed to be unclear. Our customer would like to change the brightness to lower than the current minimum setting of 0% as they think it is still too bright. I can confirm that the current setting ranges from 0-100% for each day and night mode, but I do not know if the brightness adjustment range can be changed to have darker brightness.

Best regards,

Hello Dai Uematsu,

There is not a way to change the range for the Brightness variables.

There is the Backlight Off/On actions.

Could they change the bright colors on the display to greyer colors that won't be so bright?

Hello Sara,

Thank you for your reply. I do not understand what you meant by your comment, "Could they change the bright colors on the display to greyer colors that won't be so bright?". Do you mean that our customer needs to change the background colors of all the bright items? Please kindly clarify this.

Hello Dai Uematsu,

Yes, I was suggesting that the configuration could be changed to use different colors.
