Import the DBC file

Post by T Takehara » Thu Mar 31, 2016 4:26 am

Hello,

I have posted the same question 4 years ago and confirmed that the DBC file cannot be imported into the PowerVision at the time. Could you please let us know if this is still impossible in the current PowerVision(2.8)? I have a customer who wants to import the DBC file into the PowerVision. Your cooperation would be much appreciated.

Best regards,

Greetings Toshiki Takehara,

PowerVision Configuration Studio 2.8 does not support importing the DBC file format. It does support the .cpf (CANCapture) and the .asc (CANAlyzer).

Support for importing DBC files is in our backlog as a feature to be added.

If you don't mind, I will move this to the Request Feature forum as we review that forum for ideas for features to be added to PowerVision.

Hi Sara, out of interest, if I have a DBC file , I can load than into CAN CAPTURE, then export it as .cpf, how would I load this into Powervision? or a .asc file?

thanks, Dave.

They are different types of files. DBC files are similar to the CANCapture CCD database configuration files. CPF and ASC are CANCapture log files. PowerVision can only use the log file types (CPF and ASC) to select the parameters that are already in the configuration for the devices that are recorded.

Sorry, I meant to mention that. It is "Select Parameters From Recording..." under the Tools button.
