How to exit silence mode when PVAA silencer button was press

Post by TimTian » Tue Jul 01, 2014 4:09 am

Hi All,
If PVAA silencer button was pressed, it can't alert when receiving new fault(DTC). My question is can we let it alert under this condition? :?:

Many Thanks!

Tim,

The silence button on the PVAA gauge will only suspend the alarm sound for 30 seconds if an active alarm is on the screen. It will not immediately start again if a new DM1 is sent if there is already an alarm condition. In other words if there is an alarm condition it will continue to sound until there are no alarms. The button only stop the sound for a very short amount of time.

The silence on the PVAA gauge is only for temporary suspend of the sound while someone investigates the alarm or acknowledges it. If you look at the Murphy Standard configuration you will notice that the alarm stops when you acknowledge all the alarms (by pressing the hide button).

The PVAA gauge is driven by the variable DM1.CurrentLampStatus. If the value in that variable is 1 or greater, the alarm will sound. In the Murphy standard the hide button fires the action DM1Acknowledge for each alarm.

The alarm will sound with new alarms if the user acknowledges the current alarms.

To get a system that sounds the alarms with every new DM1 you will need to fire the action DM1->DM1AcknowledgeAll on every alarm. However that may take away some ability to make the user acknowledge the alarms on the display.

The sound silence button on the PVAA gauge is not designed to acknowledge alarms, it only silences the sound for a short while. The display has to be used to acknowledge alarms.
