PowerVision Configuration Studio 2.9 Patch 1 is a color display only release. Watch for the upcoming release of PowerVision Configuration Studio 2.9 for monochrome displays! Please read the Usability and Feature Changes in PowerVision 2.9 before upgrading a configuration built with previous versions of PowerVision Configuration Studio. There is a link to the document at the bottom of this post.
This release has some major changes along with performance enhancements and bug fixes so it is considered to be a Beta version due to the new changes in this release.
Major 2.9 Patch 1 Changes are ...
- AngelScript compiler is upgraded to 2.31.2 providing lots of new and improved capabilities. For more details, see the Scripting Syntax Reference tab while editing a script in PowerVision or check out the AngleScript website at http://www.angelcode.com/angelscript.
- Scripts compile in PowerVision on the computer, no display is required to compile and check out your syntax errors.
- Performance Enhancements resulting in amazing speed for deleting and finding items in even the largest configs.
- M2 Only - Differential installs. After a full install of the patch 1 version of firmware on your display, you will be able to use the load diff buttons when you create a configuration and/or full install. This will load only files that are different from the files already on the display. Makes updating configuration or application firmware faster in many cases!
- M2 - An expression may be used for a Visible Condition.
- Reliability improvements to the TCP conduit.
