Invalid variables produce no warning/error

Post by Jstoner » Tue Jul 05, 2011 3:27 pm

Using a PV750, 2.2 OS, 2.2.10678 config tool,

If you create a variable in the Environment Setup, create some calculations in the Programming tab, and then delete that variable you don't get any errors even though the variable is no longer valid.

Jstoner,

Like your other bug, I can confirm that this has been fixed in the upcoming 2.3 release. These are good finds. Thank you for helping us improve our product.

This issue is not specific to variables that are not correct. Any error in a calculation event (missing punctuation, etc.) will cause not be caught during a save or create.

Config Tool 2.3 fixes both issues. With a calculation event error you will get the red text in the Edit Expression box as you did in 2.2 and it will check on validation.
