Issue with PV780T-VT locking up

Post by drphil69 » Tue Nov 24, 2015 4:09 pm

Hello,

I have a program that is written for a PV780T touchscreen. Initially I did not have a touchscreen to test on, so I was using a regular PV780. The program works fine in the PV780, in fact I never even changed the configuration - the program is for the touchscreen but loads and runs fine in a regular PV780, less the touch functions of course.

I finally got a touchscreen to test on, and the program is stuck on the main gauge screen. None of the buttons or the touch functions have any effect at all. To be sure I didn't mess something up, I put the exact program on a regular PV780 and it works fine. I cycled power and reloaded the program to the PV780T several times with the same results.

Any ideas of what might cause this and how to fix it?

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,

What version of PowerVision are you using?

Hi Sara,

I tried several other things.

First the display is fine, I created a standard PV780 config then converted to touch, and it worked, including the touch functions.

I also went back to an earlier version of the program, which I know works as it is in the field at this time, and this did not work. It gets to the main gauge screen and locks up. None of the buttons or touch functions work. This is the same program I had issues with several weeks ago with the DM1 messages, which worked fine after you helped me fix that issue.

I am at a complete loss here and have no idea even where to start looking.

Regards,
Phil

Problem solved, though I don't why.

Sara asked if CAN was working, and as soon as I hooked up CAN1 everything started working.

Thanks Sara!
