How to configure "Database->J1939/NMEA Parameters"(V2.2)?

Post by zlf_ciom » Tue Jul 26, 2011 5:07 am

In PowerVision Configuration Studio 2.2,how can I use the function of request whose path is "Database->J1939/NMEA Parameters->Request"? When I choose it,the PV750 can transmit the correlative ID to can bus when I connect the PV750 to other can crunode.But I don't choose the "request",the screen cann't send ID automatically. Is there any document explain what's mean of parameters of "Database->J1939/NMEA Parameters"such as request ,Fast Packet and how to configure those parameters.Thanks!

Hi zlf_ciom,

I believe you are interested in using the 2.2 configuration tool to modify the J1939/NMEA settings under the Database tab. These settings control the way the device expects to transmit and receive the specified PGNs. The following is from the IOM.

"The parameters that come with the configuration tool are from both J1939 and NMEA 2000
standards. Configuration Tool users may add or remove standard or proprietary PGNs with
parameter information as needed. Since the device is a J1939/NMEA 2000 listen only device
for these parameters, the rate and priority are informational only. If a PGN is set up to be
requested, the device will generate the request for that PGN according to the protocol chosen."

The configuration tool manual should be able to provide additional answers. It can be found in this forum at the Board index\Manuals.
