PDM - Output Modes

Post by embtechnicalservices » Fri Oct 28, 2016 10:33 am

Hi, I know you can set in the output mode the digital outputs as either High side Switch OR H bridge.

Is is possible to configure a Low side switch?

I have an ECU who's digital inputs are only " pull to ground" .

Could I could use one side of the H bridge configuration? But that would then reduce my number of available outputs I could use on the PDM.

Is this a feature request?

Hello embtechnicalservices,

It is as you suspected, the only way is to use the ground side of an H-bridge pair. There is not a way to have the low side switch functionality with a single output.

Hi Sara,

thanks for the reply, is this a hardware or software limitation? If software, could this be considered for Powervision v3?

Hello,

The limitation is the firmware on the PDM or the design of the PDM, I'm not sure, but the PDM is the where the limitation is. The PDM application in PowerVision Configuration Studio is just sending messages to the PDM to control it.

I would recommend contacting your Enovation Controls/Murphy representative to let them know what you need.
