MPC20 Machine Hours

Post by dblye » Thu Sep 18, 2014 3:41 pm

I need the part number for the ECOM Dongle for program uploading to the MPC20. I need to change the engine hours on a customers ML2000 in a mechanical engine application. I guess the panel wants to retrieve engine hours from an ECU, so to access that area of the MPC20, Powervision must communicate with the panel via J1939. I have had great success sending full configs via email that customers upload with the USB adaptor, but it appears that a change in engine hours requires a direct connection to a laptop running Powervision. Is this correct?

Hi!

I just spoke with Adam. It sounds as though you have the part number for the ECOM dongle. Adam knows all of the important part numbers. :)

You will also need the the PowerVision Field Programmer. You can find the latest installer for it here.

I don't think there is a way to change Machine Hours on an MPC-20 other than with the Field Programmer. The Field Programmer GUI is pretty straight forward, but I will be glad to answer questions if you run into trouble.

It is good to hear that you have had success with your customers using the USB adaptor.
