USB Ethernet Adapter

Post by cconner_aie » Mon Nov 09, 2015 9:01 am

I am having issues connecting a PV480 through the Ethernet Adapter.

I found another forum post saying that the chipset for the Monoprice USB adapter must be ASIX AX88772A rather than ASIX AX88772B which it comes with.

I was able to find and install the correct chips set but still am having issues connecting. Is the adapter sold by Murphy (part 78090048) physically different than the one I bought (Monoprice part 9468)? Or is it just the chipset that is different.

Thanks,

Hello cconner_aie,

Did you also look at this post? viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1019 It has some troubleshooting tips.

The chipset must be the ASIX AX88772A. The Unplugable USB/Ethernet adapters now being sold by Enovation Controls has this chipset. If you can find it else where, it is the chipset that is significant.

This is a similar post about the chipset viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1155&p=3179&hilit=chipset#p3179

If the first link and the troubleshooting tips there don't get you going let us know and we can try to help.

We had an issue and were able to resolve it by manually uploading a configuration made in PowerVision 2.7 via a USB thumbdrive.

While we were never able to pinpoint the issue, My thoughts were some sort of firmware supplied with the factory configuration in the HMI unit was not compatible with the USB-Ethernet adapter driver and the manual upload installed the latest drivers.

After reviewing some of the other posts it appears we ordered the wrong type of USB dongle. Specifically this post:
ADE wrote:Hey Sally/Chris,

Just to let you know I swapped Ethernet adapters to a different model and that instantly fixed my issue.

The adapter i was using was this one (doesnt work with the display):

The adapter I swapped to (and is now working perfectly), is this one:
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=1 ... 1&format=2

Also I updated to the newest patches of Powervision 2.7, and while it has some nice features, it didnt solve the Ethernet issue.
I called in and talked with our rep and he was able to help make arrangements so that we can get the correct dongle.

Thanks!
