Please be aware of partial downloads

Post by jpratt » Sat Jan 08, 2011 11:57 am

There have been a couple of instances where people are getting partial downloads of configurations. When downloading files from the forums please make sure they are complete downloads. Typically downloaded db3 files should be between 3 and 20mb. If you find you have a small download its probably a partial and you should try again.

If you have partial download of a db3 file it can cause a number of problems. Most common is to crash on opening the configuration.

Another alternative to avoid getting a partial download is to use zip files to upload. This will ensure that if you do get a partial download it will be an invalid file instead of a partially working configuration.

If a partial file is in fact downloaded leading to a 'locked up' PowerView750, then what is the proper solution to fixing this problem?

If you lock up the unit, you should be able to access the loader using the two button key sequence during boot (Hold down the bottom two buttons on the right side while booting). This will allow you to re install the config from a thumb drive once you get the correct one downloaded.
