Dynamic Logging Rates

Post by chagnonp » Mon Jun 20, 2011 3:00 pm

Is it possible to add functionality to the datalogger that would allow me to log different parameters at different rates as well as/ or change the logging rates through scripts? For example, if I wrote a script that could pick up early signs of a part failure, I would be able to speed up logging rates to catch the failure in finer detail.

Thanks,

Pete

We are working on a feature that will be added in version 2.3. This will be known as snapshot logging. You can have multiple logs that take "snapshots" of certain variables at certain rates and be driven by certain events. I.e. the log can start / stop based on events (say a shutdown or alarm) and then log specified data at a certain rate. It won't do all that you list here, but it could be a start.
